Studio Birgit Severin

Studio B. Severin stands for a conceptual, aesthetic and material-research driven design approach, aiming to bridge between craft, industry, object and user. The studio is based in Berlin and run by the French-German duo, Guillaume Neu-Rinaudo and Birgit Severin. Both of them studied at Design Academy Eindhoven and graduated in 2013. Believing in the value of concepts, their work investigates how objects acquire meaning by being part of personal narratives, and exploring themes of transformation, identification and belonging. Whether designing for a client or realizing self initiated projects, the studio applies rigorous attention to context, process and detail. Their works have been presented and published internationally such as Z33 (BE), Design Biennale Saint-Etienne (FR), Museum of Industry Chemnitz (DE), Gallery Bensimon (FR), Design Miami (US) or BIO 23 (SI). Moreover, Birgit is lecturing and heading workshops. Currently she is teaching Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.
